Sports Massage

“Soft Tissue Therapy is the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, tendons and ligaments. It is applicable not just to sports people but to anybody wishing to guard against or recover from a soft tissue injury.”

The Sports Massage Association

Over the last two decades, the requirements of the modern athlete have grown enormously. No serious team, or sportsperson, would consider competing without specialist support from professionals such as nutritionists and soft tissue therapists.

Sports Massage

“Sports Massage” is a system of advanced techniques such as Muscle Energy Techniques, Soft Tissue Release, Reciprocal Inhibition, Trigger Point Therapy and more. A typical treatment session will often focus on a specific body part or area, to achieve relief from pain and greater flexibility and movement.
In athletic and sporting settings, it has an effective place during training, before and after events, and in rehabilitation from injury.

For those not involved in competitive sports, situations often arise where a course of remedial massage can aid recovery from injury.

Painful conditions such as sciatica, back and neck pain, and RSIs, can often be resolved with a course of treatment. Such treatment can assist in reversing long-term conditions, thus improving mobility and quality of life.

“Totally AMAZING. I was in so much pain when I came in. It’s really eased plus I feel calmer and taller.”

Deep Tissue Massage

Many people are simply looking for a decent full-body “Deep Tissue” massage, but find that other therapists just don’t have the strength to get deep enough. That won’t be an issue.

Swedish Massage

Gentler treatments are available. Sometimes, we just want some time out. Something to calm the system. Swedish, or Holistic Massage is a general, less technical approach widely used for relaxation, and general well being.

Treatment Vouchers are available if you’d like to give a session as a present to a friend, or loved one. Well-being is truly a gift.

Sports Massage

I am also available for pre-event and post-event treatments and pitch-side First Aid as required. Local sports clubs are welcome to contact me.

My journey into Soft Tissue Therapy began with Diplomas in Holistic Massage in 2005, and Indian Head Massage in 2007.

I have been practicing Sports Massage since 2011, and hold a gold level membership of the Sports Massage Association. Please see their website www.thesma.org for further information.

My registration with The Complimentary & Healthcare Council means that patients can be referred to me via their GP. In addition, several Cash Plan Healthcare Providers will cover all or part of the cost of treatment for holders of such policies.
